Today see the first round of political debate for the general election, This is the first time that this has been tried in British history and follows the same system as the American debates.

80 Rules are in place to make the debates work and so that they don’t turn into a clapathon with party supporters cheering and clapping whatever their respective leaders say with out even having heard them.

Although i am not keen on the fat that we as a nation only ever seem to wont to copy systems from America which has led to greater spending on party campaign but also much more “muck spreading” and/or spin, i do believe that the debate’s will in fact be very interesting(well at least the first one or two) just so i can get a personal feeling for the candidates i also think it cast more light on Clegg the Liberal Democrat party leader who because he is leader of the “3rd” party never really get the opportunity to show his leadership qualities with the others – hope the the debate will not be a dull affair with all parties running through pre rehearsed script and even more hope that it wont just come to cheap points scoring and the respective leaders give a honest and forth right display of their true leadership qualities so that the British government can make the right decision in the general election and make Briton what it should be again GREAT.
